About us

Lou Projects is a sustainable building company based on the Central Coast, NSW. Our vision is to change the building industry by building more sustainably and designing and building homes that are healthy and energy efficient. We do renovations and home extensions but our heart goes to building more beautifully designed and energy efficient homes. No matter the project size, we always work according to our four principles. You can check out some of our completed projects here and what some of our clients have to say here

We also place a huge focus on education, community and mental health in the workplace. We believe the best way to bring about change is to empower ourselves and others with knowledge and information. We’re constantly educating ourselves on the best practices, techniques and materials available and believe in sharing this knowledge with our clients, the community and other builders. You can check out some of our educational resources here.

We strongly believe in being a valuable part of our community. Our goal is to host local tree planting and clean up events each year, to get our team and wider communities involved in giving back to and appreciating nature.

Mental health is another factor within the building industry that we’re passionate about changing and improving. It’s a male-dominated industry and one of the biggest employers in the country and the statistics around suicide and depression within the industry are confronting. At Lou Projects we place a huge emphasis on the wellbeing of our team and have instigated a four-day work week to give everyone that extra day to enjoy life, spend time with family and friends, and importantly rest, relax and rejuvenate. This also includes a quarterly team-building event, with an emphasis on getting the team together for a day of fun, connection, getting outside our comfort zones and opening our minds to new ways of being and living.

meet the TEAM

Andrew is the driving force behind Lou Projects. He was surrounded by nature growing up, has always loved and respected the environment and even as a young boy could identify issues and concerns about the future of it. After 10 years in the building industry, working on a range of different projects, both residential and commercial, Andrew could see the major problems the industry faced and decided he wanted to do something about it. He established Lou Projects and set out with a mission – to improve the building industry by building more sustainably.

Andrew has always been very particular about how everything is done, pays close attention to every detail and holds himself and his work to the highest standards. All of this results in projects that run efficiently, on time and are completed to the highest standards.

One of our superstar Supervisors, Remy is an exceptional experienced carpenter. He started his career as a kitchen joiner, so has a great eye for the finer details that bring a project together. He’s a super friendly and hard-working guy and we love his clear communication style. A born and raised Coastie, he’s a gun surfer and loves a good surf whenever he can fit it in.

Kurt, or Saggy as he’s affectionately known, is another one of our epic Supervisors. Andrew and Kurt have worked together for other builders for years, so there’s a lot of shared history, trust and respect between these two. Kurt’s diverse building experience over the years, and his general enthusiasm for life, means he brings a lot of good fresh energy to the team. He also loves a good chat – so you’ll probably know when he’s around and on site.

Richard is another one of our amazing Supervisors who we were stoked to welcome to the team. He’s highly organised, a great communicator and has amazing attention to detail; three skills we value highly here at Lou Projects. A well presented and laid-back guy, you can tell he loves surfing, yoga and is a vegan (haha).

Luke is the talented up and comer on the team. A final-year apprentice with a promising future as a carpenter and will eventually move into management. Luke won apprentice of the year in 2019 and we are extremely proud! His initiative, organisation skills and hardworking attitude has definitely earned him that award and a place with Lou Projects. A pleasure to work with now and we’re excited to see what the future holds.

Liam is our fresh young gun carpenter. What stands out about Liam is the fact that he’s so keen to learn and evolve as a carpenter and put the time and effort in to really master his art. He’s an easy going dude so he gets along with everyone pretty damn well!

One of the most reliable and hard-working young lads on the team, Sean is midway through his apprenticeship. He’s super focused, determined and excited to finish his trade – and we’re stoked to be guiding him along the way.

Harrison is the newest and youngest member of the Lou Projects team. He joins us as a first year apprentice. We were impressed by him from the very beginning – ambitious, polite, well spoken and respectful – all things we consider before anything else. In just a short amount of time working with the team we can see our first impressions were spot on. We’re lucky to have such a great young man learning their trade with us and we can’t wait to see Harrison grow.

If you’ve worked with us you probably know Tegan. Our Office Manager who does all the nitty gritty behind the scenes admin stuff. Tegan keeps our contractors paid and happy and the rest of the team in line with their paperwork – what would we do without her?! A huge support to the whole team, and not only a great colleague but also a great friend.

Jeff is our new Junior Contracts Administrator, helping out with estimating, scheduling, safety protocols and contracts. He’s super passionate about evolving his career in the construction industry and is a welcomed friendly face in the office.
